Overview

Created a long while ago deep within the earth, Fossil is a gardener who sells the plants she grows.

Fossil prefers to be optimistic, though her desire to appear happy causes her to bottle up her negative emotions. She's kind of an "ambivert", meaning she likes to socialize frequently, but has a relatively small social battery.

Backstory

ANCIENT TIMES

Centuries ago, a powerful earthquake occurred near Monsuttaho's castle town. It does not typically get earthquakes, so this was very strange. Upon investigation, it turned out that the earthquake caused a large fissure to be formed. Within the walls of the fissure, greenish crystals could be seen. The rock around these crystals was soft, almost like mud. Mana could be detected within the soft rocks, so it was determined that a powerful mage or spirit put it there. In fact, this rock and crystal was the result of a priestess of the earth god Renyu. She used her powerful control over the earth to impart her soul on the earth upon her death, and as a result, turned a part of the rocks alive with her powers, causing the earthquake.

However, despite its living nature, the rocks did not stir, lying dormant for a very long time. It simply built up mana as time progressed on the surface. The gems were all but forgotten, simply left documented in an obscure part of Monsuttaho Castle's records, until suddenly, centuries after the fissure first formed, a small brown-and-green slime climbed out of the crack in the ground. The living earth became known as "Fossil," due to the skull hat it wore, and the bones found within and poking out of the mud.

MODERN TIMES

Now Monsuttaho's most prominent town had become a huge modern city, Chroma City. This was a strange and busy place for the recently created earth incarnation. She found herself stumbling about the streets for a while, until she ended up in the care of two nice farmers in the outskirts of the town. They were nice, and let her stay as long as she helped take care of the crops, which she did for a while, until she was ready to move out on her own.

Now, she owns a house in the suburbs of Autumn Hills, where she grows an assortment of plants, her yard a veritable miniature forest and even having some plants indoors, all of which she sells the results of at the downtown farmer's market. Her friends Fresa and Penny sometimes like to take some of the edible plants, much to Fossil's chagrin. However, she can't turn them down, especially since Penny helped her set up her newest endeavor: a "streaming station" where she can potentially make money by playing video games and such, a hobby she already enjoyed, and which she has a fair bit of time for since caring for plants isn't super critical on time.

Abilities

Fossil can manipulate rocks and earth. She can sink into the ground and swim through it.

Social Links

Fossil is good friends with Fresa, Penny and Yuyu.

Fossil and Fresa are relatively recent friends who met through PrismNet. However, they often visit IRL.

Penny and Fossil live in the same neighborhood, and are close friends. Penny was the one who introduced Fossil to Fresa.

Yuyu originally haunted what happened to be Fossil's adoptive parents' house upon arriving in Chroma City. She and Fossil became close friends, much to the parents' chagrin. Both are ageless, so they decided to become roommates (since the house Fossil got had two bedrooms anyways).

Trivia

  • Typically she moves around by "slithering" using her hair outside, though when inside she often simply walks.

  • She is fine in water, simply absorbing it, so she doesn't actually mind the rain. It's just the loud noise of thunder and the bright flashes of lightning that can scare her during a storm.

  • She isn't actually afraid of bugs, they simply disgust her, since "they like to eat [her] garden and make their homes in [her] body."

  • Her hair is extremely long, and she can "stand" using it, giving her a height of 5'0" while "standing" on her hair. The given height of 4'7" is from head to toe, rather than including her hair.

  • Sometimes, the air right near her has an almost-electric feeling. Her core is constantly dumping mana into her body, some of which escapes.
